2022 home trends

With each new year, we see different home trends come and go. Check out these 5 design, décor and renovation trends we predict will be popular in 2022!

Investing in home offices and side hustle spaces

With so many companies allowing remote and flex scheduling, the importance of a good work space at home increases. Whether it’s converting smaller bedrooms into dual office/guest rooms or creating a quiet corner in the basement, creating a coherent and motivating work space is top of the list for many homeowners.

More vintage and second hand décor/reducing waste

With shortages popping up in supply chain and an increase in environmental awareness, shopping second hand and vintage has become the latest trend. These pieces are often unique, expensive to replicate and one-of-kind that can add color and character to any space.

Smart homes

“Alexa, turn off the kitchen lights,” might be a phrase we hear more this year. Implementing smart phone features like plugs, security systems, speakers and light bulbs will continue to rise in popularity this year. Smart homes can provide insights into energy use that can help you become more energy efficient and mindful of ecological factors. Smart homes can pinpoint areas where you’re using more energy than you need to, allowing you to cut back in those areas and save money.

More focus on outdoor spaces and activities

Outdoor spaces will continue to be a focus this year and more people are spending time at home. We will see an increase in landscaping, pools, water features, fire pits and outdoor kitchen areas as people continue to create their perfect outdoor oasis right at home.

Bring on the green! Plants and more.

Houseplants continue to grow in popularity as indoor plants can reduce stress, improve air quality and provide a therapeutic pastime in caring for them. They also freshen up a space and provide natural color and texture to any area.
